Genshin Impact: Best Bosses To Farm In Version 2.6

With the release of Genshin Impact 2.6, players finally have access to both a new area in The Chasm and a new 5-star Hydro character in Kamisato Ayato. A new area and a new character to farm for means that there will be a time crunch on those with limited hours available, however, and knowing exactly which bosses are best to farm in Genshin Impact 2.6 can be a huge boon for anyone looking to play the game as efficiently as possible.

That being said, before ever planning which bosses suit a player the best, they\’ll need to decide what their goals are for the newest Genshin Impact update. In Genshin Impact 2.6, Kamisato Ayato isn\’t the only sought-after 5-star character that will get a rate up; the extremely popular Venti will be available at the same time, while Kamisato Ayaka will get a rerun following the initial banner that features both Ayato and the Anemo Archon.

Even if someone isn\’t rolling for 5-star characters in Genshin Impact 2.6, there are plenty of other elements to consider before committing to the best boss farming schedule possible. With all of those considerations in mind, it\’s important to note that this guide is full of optimized suggestions that suit specific types of Genshin Impact players, but even those with different priorities will likely find this useful moving forward.

Genshin Impact: How to Farm Kamisato Ayato Boss Materials

The star of Genshin Impact\’s 2.6 update, Kamisato Ayato is likely the most sought-after 5-star character of the newest patch. Luckily, most of his boss farming requirements feature elements of the game that have existed for some time – though one of his Talent Level-Up materials is a nasty curveball for those who haven\’t been diligent on farming new content.

To start, Kamisato Ayato will require Varunada Lazurite as Ascension Material, but that\’s the easiest requirement to meet. They pair nicely with one of his other requirements, which is 46 Dew of Repudiation. Both of these can be farmed from one Genshin Impact boss – He, the Hydro Hypostasis. First introduced in Genshin Impact 2.1, the Hydro Hypostasis is likely familiar to many players, and is easily beaten by most average teams. While 46 Dew of Repudiation is a lot, this Kamisato Ayato material can be farmed quickly and is only capped by available resin, making it a fairly simple requirement.

Unfortunately, the other Kamisato Ayato boss material that\’s a prime target for farming in Genshin Impact 2.6 isn\’t nearly as easy to come by. Ayato also requires six Mudra of the Malefic General per talent, which drops from the End of the Oneiric Euthymia domain. This domain, as with other boss fights similar to it, is capped at a once-a-week run, making farming painfully slow regardless of available resin. That means with each weekly reset, players looking to farm for Kamisato Ayato need to make sure they\’re completing the End of the Oneiric Euthymia – a missed week is a brutal setback, since the drops won\’t always line up with the required materials and will rely on being stocked up on Dream Solvent or just luck. With 18 total Mudra of the Malefic General required, Ayato\’s biggest farming barrier will likely be this item for the foreseeable future.

Genshin Impact: How to Farm Venti Boss Materials

Venti\’s banner date may have originally been in 2020, but the 5-star Anemo character remains one of the game\’s premier crowd control options despite the many releases that have followed him. While running concurrent with the Kamisato Ayato banner might mean he\’ll see a little less love from those wishing in Genshin Impact\’s 2.6 update, that doesn\’t mean Mondstadt\’s Anemo Archon and resident bard isn\’t worth pulling for – and, if players are looking for a tiebreaker in Version 2.6\’s first banner, Venti is much easier to farm materials for.

To begin with, Venti needs various forms of Vayuda Turquoise and 46 Hurricane Seeds. Much like Kamisato Ayato\’s boss materials, would-be Venti users can obtain both these from the same source, the Anemo Hypostasis. As one of the game\’s oldest boss fights, the Anemo Hypostasis is also one of its easiest, and most sufficiently prepared teams can clear it in one cycle, making it an extremely efficient use of time.

Venti\’s Talent Level-Up material is the Tail of Boreas, which can be farmed from Andrius. While this Venti boss material can only be farmed once a week, it\’s also from a boss in Andrius that has existed for a very long time in-game. That means that as of Genshin Impact 2.6, many players will have already accumulated this material, or at least some of its counterparts that can be swapped out using Dream Solvent. Those who don\’t have the required materials can still farm Andrius once a week, and it\’s similar to the Anemo Hypostasis in the sense that it\’s far easier a fight than something more recent like the Raiden Shogun boss. Venti requires a total of 18 Tail of Boreas to max out his Talent Level-Ups, though players can decide to prioritize certain talents first to avoid such a steep grind.

Genshin Impact: How to Farm Kamisato Ayaka Boss Materials

Finally, the last 5-star character rate-up in Genshin Impact 2.6 will be Kamisato Ayaka, the sister of Ayato and a premier Cryo damage dealer. Those planning on pulling for Ayaka – who should be available roughly three weeks after the launch of Genshin Impact 2.6 – can get ahead of the curve by farming specific bosses to make sure they can meet her Ascension and Talent Level-Up requirements immediately.

Kamisato Ayaka\’s boss materials for Ascension aren\’t terribly difficult to locate. She requires various Shivada Jade, alongside 46 Perpetual Heart. Unlike both Ayato and Venti, however, Ayaka can\’t always farm these two items at the same time. Perpetual Heart is dropped by the Perpetual Mechanical Array, which only sometimes drops Shivada Jade also. Luckily, Shivada Jade is in a loot table that spans multiple normal and weekly bosses, but if players need both, it\’s not always as straightforward as other characters\’ Ascension materials.

Ayaka\’s weekly boss material requirement is the Bloodjade Branch, which drops from the Beneath the Dragon-Queller domain. Ayaka needs six Bloodjade Branch per talent to max level them, and while the item isn\’t exactly new, it\’s still one that\’s in high demand, with Yanfei requiring the same material while Kazuha and Eula require other drops from the same boss that may have seen a Bloodjade Branch swapped into something else with Dream Solvent. Anyone planning to wish for Ayaka will want to ensure they complete Beneath the Dragon-Queller every single week, and the higher the World Level, the better the odds of beneficial drops.

Genshin Impact: Best Boss to Farm In 2.6

What if a player doesn\’t want to pull for any of the 5-star character banners in Genshin Impact 2.6? While their needs may vary, there are some good suggestions that are applicable more broadly. In general, farming the most recent weekly boss is a good idea to increase stores of materials that may be needed in the future. In Genshin Impact 2.6, that would be the Ruin Serpent, a new addition as part of The Chasm. No character requires materials from the Ruin Serpent just yet, but as is often the case in Genshin Impact, it probably won\’t be long before a new 5-star does – and it\’s better to be prepared if it\’s a character a player wants.

As a general recommendation, the best Genshin Impact 2.6 boss farming strategy for those without specific goals would involve the Ruin Serpent as part of a world boss rotation and the End of the Oneiric Euthymia domain as part of the weekly boss rotation. After that, it\’s a matter of what a player needs to flesh out their inventory of Ascension and Talent-Up materials from boss fights.
