Genshin Impact Moonlight Merriment Event & Rewards Explained

The Genshin Impact 2.1 update is in full swing and with it comes a few new events. The Moonlight Merriment Event takes place in Liyue and is said to feature some of the region\’s popular characters, including Xiangling and Xeqing. With most of the recent content focusing heavily on Inazuma, it’s a nice change of pace to come back to Liyue.

The Moonlight Merriment Event has two parts and three different activities. Part 1 begins on September 27 and Part 2 starts on October 1, once Festive Fever reaches 1000. The entire event runs until October 12, 2021, giving players several weeks to finish. Like the more recent events in Genshin Impact, new quests and activities will become available throughout the event’s duration, instead of being available right at the start. To participate in the Moonlight Merriment Event, players will need to be Adventure Rank 28 or above and have completed the Archon Quest \”Chapter I: Act III – A New Star Approaches\” and \”Trulla Chapter: Act I – Mondstadt Gastronomy Trip.\”

The first activity in this event is called the Cuisine Machine Test Run, or Moonchase Tales. In this activity Genshin Impact players will run into Xiangling at the Wanmin Restaurant and complete missions to obtain Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and these new recipes: Oncidium Tofu, Rice Pudding, and Braised Meat. It is important to note that this part of the event cannot be completed in co-op mode.

How Genshin Impact\’s Moonchase Festival Will Work

The second activity of the Moonlight Merriment Event is called Moonlight Seeker. The Adventurers’ Guild will scatter Moonchase Charms and Mystmoon Chests across Liyue for the player to find. There will be three gameplay paths: Path of Stalwart Stone, Path of Gentle Breezes, and Path of Austere Frost. Once each of these is available, players will be able to explore the area for the chests and charms. When players have progressed each area to a certain level, rewards like Primogems, the new fish claymore the Luxurious Sea-Lord, and its refinement, Weapon Ascension Materials, and Festive Fever will all be available. In order to participate in the Moonlight Seeker gameplay, players will need to complete \”Moonlight Merriment: Part I\” and \”The Many Matters of the Moonchase Festival\” first.

The third activity of the Moonlight Merriment Event is called the Trail of Delicacies. Players will follow the same three paths in Moonlight Seeker completing challenges and defeating enemies. When each of the three paths becomes available, the corresponding challenge for the Trail of Delicacies will also be available. During these challenges, players can offer certain dishes, and once they have enough of these dishes they will receive the corresponding Trail Comforts, which provide a boost in battle. The Trail of Delicacies gives Primogems, refinements for the Luxurious Sea-Lord, Mora, Talent Level-Up Materials, Character Level-Up Materials, and Festive Fever. In order to participate in the Trail of Delicacies gameplay, players will need to complete \”Moonlight Merriment: Part I\” and \”The Many Matters of the Moonchase Festival.\”

The Path of Stalwart Stone begins on September 27 in Genshin Impact, and the Path of Gentle Breezes will kick off on October 1s. The Path of Austere Frost will follow on October 5. Additionally, during this upcoming Genshin Impact event, players will receive a Weapon Enhancement EXP Bonus when they enhance the Luxurious Sea-Lord during the event gameplay duration.
