What are your top 3 favorite video game genres?

JRPGs (only): (Final Fantasy, Disgaea, Tales of…, Persona, Neptunia, Xeno- series, Fire Emblem, Scarlet Nexus, Code Vein). I always enjoyed JRPGs over the “western” counterparts, (e.g. Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect) for the story, characters, setting, and artwork.

Gacha: (Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Epic 7, King’s Raid, Arknights, Illusion Connect, Girls Frontline, Exos Heroes, Alchemy Stars, Counter:side, Punishing Grey Raven) Usually RPGs or strategy games at its core, this genre lets you earn additional characters with different skillsets to add to your party.

MMORPGs: (World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, Blade & Soul, Tera, Star Wars: ToR, Closers, Vindictus, Soulworker, Dragon Raja) RPGs but with tons of other people.

“Hack n’ slash”: (God of War, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Senran Kagura) Go around and kill anything that moves

Open-world action: (Spiderman, GTA, Assassin’s Creed)

Racing (“arcade” style only) – (Need for Speed, The Crew) I don’t really care for the simulation style like Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa.

Fighting: (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters, or anything from Arc System Works for that matter)

Transport Simulation: (MS Flight Sim, American Truck Sim, Euro Truck Sim 2, Snowrunner, Train sims)

Construction/management builders/simulations: (City Skylines, Planet Coaster, Factorio)

“Nerdy” Puzzles (Space Chem, 100 doors) Puzzles where you’d have to use your head to figure things out

Trading Card/Collectible Card: (Shadowverse, Hearthstone, Magic the Gathering)

Match-3: (Candy Crush, Bejeweled)
