Well, there is the obvious meme of choosing to call Ghost Busters, but I’m gonna give this answer a serious attempt. Because why not?
I choose Chongyun, from the videogame GenshinImpact.
Professionally, he is an exorcist. He specializes in removing and exterminating both malevolent spirits and demons. That said… he has never actually met or seen one. It is actually on his bucket list. So, how is a professional exorcist who has never met a supernatural entity a thing? He has a rare, once a century condition called “Congenital Positivity”. Basically, his body produces an aura of extremely powerful positive energy, which is extremely toxic to spirits. By the time he is within a mile, most spirits have already either been destroyed or are fleeing. As an exorcist, it means all he really needs to do for his job is to just be in the area for a minute or two (he probably doesn’t even need to go to the actual location, just being in the neighborhood is enough) and any evil ghost is gone. He actually feels bad about charging people, feeling that he is unintentionally running a scam job since he doesn’t actually need to put any work or effort in, even if he is the one responsible for clearing out any spirits in the area. He considers the biggest drawback of his ability to be the fact that it isn’t actually possible for him to meet amy spirits as a result.
The second biggest drawback is that it also makes him vulnerable to overheating, which causes his personality to become uninhibited. Much like if a normal person became a rude drunk, he starts shouting and arguing with people, picking fights and all around acting like a crazy guy with no sense of self-control. He doesn’t remember these episodes, but comments from other characters suggest he is either a lot of fun and just showing who he really is when not holding back (his best friend Xingqiu says this, but he is also a known troll) or a total menace (Xiangling, a local restaraunteur who accidently fed him something spicy once right before he stripped to his underwear in her restaurant and started flipping tables). He keeps the overheating under control by eating medicated popsicles.
As it happens, a great secondary choice would be from the same game.
Hu Tao is the current head of her family’s funeral parlor and is a specialist in various means of sending spirits to the afterlife. Her story chapter also focuses on her taking a day trip to the border between our world and the afterlife, a locale she apparently frequents on her own time. The first half of her mission focuses on her investigating a claim of someone who believes they are being haunted (they are) by a malevolent spirit of their dead friend (not malevolent). Hu Tao, having been interacting with the dead since she was a little kid, has absolutely no fear of death and sees it as nothing more abnormal or taboo of a subject as someone talking about what they want for breakfast. Even if she isn’t an exorcist herself, she’d have far more than enough knowledge and experience to assist me in any taos relating to the dead. That said, she would probably also spend as much time trying toget me to buy a family value pack on caskets… buy three get one free, great for families with kids! Yeah, she has no tact whatsoever for the fact that pretty much everyone else this side of the living finds it an uncomfortable subject, often treating it as equal to a birthday party.
