The Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream has revealed which characters will be playable in the new update. Ahead of Version 2.7, called Hidden Dreams In The Depths, going live in May, HoYoverse\’s Special Program broadcast also confirmed which characters would get reruns, what new events will be arriving in-game, and where the story of the popular RPG will go next. And while it\’s great seeing which characters will get Banner reruns, most of the attention was on the new playable characters arriving in Genshin Impact 2.7.
Ahead of the Special Program livestream, HoYoverse had already shared images and some information on Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, which all but guaranteed the two characters would arrive as Banners in Genshin Impact 2.7. In the time since then, a number of rumors appeared online suggesting reruns for characters like Kazuha and Arataki Itto. Thankfully, there\’s no longer any need for guesswork since the characters in Genshin Impact 2.7 have all been confirmed.

The Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream originally aired on the game\’s official Twitch channel. However, as usual, a video of the broadcast should be uploaded to its official YouTube channel later on. Those watching the livestream were treated to new codes to redeem in-game, as well as glimpses of future content the next update will bring. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given how accurate Genshin Impact leaks are and the delay of the original broadcast, most of the new and returning characters for Genshin Impact 2.7 had been rumored for quite some time.
New & Returning Character Banners In Genshin Impact 2.7
As previously teased, Yelan will be a new playable character in Genshin Impact 2.7. She uses a bow in combat and has the Hydro Vision and will star on her own Banner starting on May 31. Kuki Shinobu is the other new playable character confirmed during the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream. Kuki Shinobu is an Electro user and deputy in the Arataki Gang, which had led to the rumors that Itto would get a Banner rerun in the update. She\’ll be a featured 4-star Banner character alongside Itto in June. The confirmed Banner characters from the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream are:
The returning 5-star characters getting Banner reruns are Itto and Xiao. Both of them were previously leaked and rumored to be appearing, so it\’s not wholly surprising to find them confirmed during the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream. Both characters are powerful, so players who missed out on them previously may want to pull for them while their Banner reruns last.
Despite the delay for Genshin Impact 2.7, it looks as if the free-to-play RPG is back on track with regularly scheduled updates. The new playable characters certainly look interesting, and it\’s great to see some fan-favorites getting Banner reruns as well. The Genshin Impact Version 2.7 update should go live on May 31, 2022, depending on someone\’s region and time zone.
