Genshin Impact’s new region of The Chasm contains various mysteries that must be uncovered. Similar to Genshin Impact’s \”Paleontological Investigation\” quest, players will not be prompted by an obvious quest alert. Instead, players must collect items called Orbs of Blue Depths in order to complete this Hidden Exploration Objective.
There are nine total Orbs of Blue Depths in Genshin Impact that must be collected through The Chasm: Underground Mines. These are needed to unlock a hidden room found in the Nameless Ruins. Unlocking this room will also grant players the achievement “Crede Tenebrae” from Wonders of the World.
Orbs of Blue Depths can be obtained by defeating the Underground Mines’ nine Shadowy Husks – which are also known as “The Black Serpents” – for the first time. For added ease, players will be able to use their Adventurer Handbook to route to the nearest Shadowy Husk, found in the Enemies tab. Six out of nine can be found this way. These Shadowy Husks respawn, which means their normal drops may be used as Genshin Impact’s Ascension materials for a future character.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #1 in The Chasm – Skeld
The first Orb of Blue Depths can be found in the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel, hidden in the caged room at the base level. In order to access this cave, players must retrieve the Miner’s Key buried within an Investigation point along the Serpent’s Cave north tunnel. Once unlocked, players will find the Shadowy Husk, Skeld, in the caged room. Skeld uses a shield and can inflict ranged Cryo attacks.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #2 in The Chasm – Haltaf
The second Orb of Blue Depths can be found in The Serpent’s Cave. Haltaf can be found below the Teleport Waypoint at the very bottom of the cavern, surrounded by Dark Mud. Haltaf swings a Polearm and has Pyro abilities. It is recommended to use one of Genshin Impact’s Hydro characters to break his shield and defeat him.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #3 in The Chasm – Hyglacg
Players can take the Teleport Waypoint near the Underground Waterway and head south for the third Orb of Blue Depths in Genshin Impact. Follow the river down until it leads to the open hole of an old structure. The Shadowy Husk, Hyglacg, will be waiting on the second floor. Hyglacg uses a long spear-like weapon and is able to manipulate the Hydro element. He does not have any external shields to dismantle.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #4 in The Chasm – Herger
The fourth Orb of Blue Depths can be found in The Glowing Narrows. Players can take the Teleport Waypoint and follow the bend. Herger can be found in the cave marked by the exploding Geo mushrooms.
Herger has a similar move-set to Hyglacg. He will thrust Hydro-infused attacks at players, though they are easily avoidable. After the fight, players can collect the fourth Orb of Blue Depths in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #5 in The Chasm – Serkir
Genshin Impact’s Dark Mud will be present for this Shadowy Husk. The Orb of Blue Depths can be found by taking the Teleport Waypoint in the Nameless Ruins. Players will need to glide to the southwest of the ruins. Serkir will be beside an Oozing Secretion. Players can use their Lumenstone Gadget to dispel the Dark Mud before attacking. Similar to Skeld, Serkir will have ranged, Cryo attacks as well as a shield.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #6 in The Chasm – Roneth
The sixth Orb can be found by taking the Teleport Waypoint southeast of The Glowing Narrows. From there, players will need to head down the tunnel and glide down the deep cavern. The Shadowy Husk, Roneth, will be waiting at the very bottom. Roneth will have long-ranged, Cryo attacks which may Freeze players since the cave is filled with water.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #7 in The Chasm – Edgetho
The seventh Orb of Blue Depths can be found in the same location as the Strange Object in Genshin Impact, which is located in the middle section of the Underground Waterway. Players should begin at the Teleport Waypoint south of The Chasm: Main Mining Area and enter the cavern to the left. From there, follow the rock ledge until the cavern opens up into a wide cave.
Edgetho will be found on the middle platform surrounded by water with a Pyro Shadowy Husk companion. Edgetho has Anemo capabilities, along with a Claymore-like weapon that can be dismantled and swung like a whip. After defeating Edgetho, players will be given the seventh Orb of Blue Depths in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #8 in The Chasm – Buliwyf
The Orb of Blue Depths given by Buliwyf can be found by taking the Teleport Waypoint south of Stony Halls. From there, players will need to follow the ledge on the left until they reach the Seelie court. There is a wall that must be destroyed to enter the room that contains Buliwfy and two Shadowy Husks.
Buliwyf has the same Anemo-infused Claymore weapon as Edgetho, except he will have a Pyro shield. Players can eliminate the accompanying Shadowy Husks first or use Genshin Impact’s Elemental Reaction, Swirl, to eliminate the enemies together. The wall will respawn along with the enemies.
Genshin Impact: Orb of Blue Depths Location #9 in The Chasm – Rethel
The ninth and final Orb of Blue Depths can be found in the tunnel West of The Glowing Narrows. Starting at the Teleport Waypoint in The Glowing Narrows, players can follow the tunnel until they reach the drop of the cavern. Rethel will be waiting at the very bottom. As another Windcutter, he will be using Anemo-infused attacks.
Once players have obtained all nine Orb of Blue Depths, they will be able to unlock the entrance to the hidden room and obtain one of Genshin Impact’s hidden Achievements. To reach the hidden room, players can take the Teleport Waypoint in the Nameless Ruins. Players will need to climb the southern wall and continue until they are able to glide down to the Orb’s locked mechanism. After unlocking the hidden room and obtaining the contents within, Genshin Impact players will have even more mysteries to unfold.
