Albedo is finally getting a re-run banner during the 2.3 Version Update in Genshin Impact. Albedo was originally released in Version 1.2, and Genshin Impact has seen a lot of changes since his initial banner. There have been plenty of changes to his build. Most new players haven’t had the chance to pull for Albedo, so players who manage to get him this time will want to take note of his best build now compared to his original run.
Albedo is a 5-Star Geo Sword user in Genshin Impact who works as an alchemist in Mondstadt for the Knights of Favonius. His kit makes him work best as a Sub-DPS unit who provides the team with additional Elemental DMG Bonus and enables Crystallize reactions. Here are what weapons, artifacts, talents, and team compositions work best for him.
Albedo is unique in both his skill functions and artifact requirements in Genshin Impact, making him both fun to build and a great addition to many teams. He’s one of the few units whose Elemental Skill provides both utility and damage, and he has the lowest Elemental Skill cooldown in the game at only four seconds.
How to Build Albedo in Genshin Impact Version 2.3
Here are all of Albedo’s abilities in Genshin Impact, and how they work:
Normal Attack: Favonius Bladework – WeissAlbedo performs up to five rapid strikes.
Elemental Skill: Abiogenesis: Solar IsotomaAlbedo creates a Solar Isotoma, an elevator-like platform that rises above the ground, that deals AoE Geo DMG. When enemies are in the Solar Isotoma zone, the Solar Isotoma generates Transient blossoms that deal AoE Geo DMG based on Albedo’s DEF.
Elemental Burst: Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic TideAlbedo summons Geo crystals that surge and burst forward, dealing AoE Geo DMG in front of him. If Albedo uses his Elemental Skill after this, he will deal additional AoE Geo DMG.
When using Albedo as a Sub-DPS unit, Solar Isotoma should always be on the field, so players should focus on leveling up his Elemental Skill first. This should be followed by his Elemental Burst, and players can place the least importance on his Normal Attack.
Albedo’s best artifact set is a four-piece Archaic Petra set. This set gives Albedo a 15% Geo DMG bonus and gives players a 35% DMG Bonus for any element that causes a Crystallize reaction. For artifact stats, Albedo should run a DEF% or Energy Recharge Hourglass, Geo DMG Cup, and DEF%, Crit Rate, or Crit DMG hat. Since Albedo’s damage scales from DEF, building DEF is more important than ATK%.
For artifact sub-stats, players should focus on Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and DEF%. This makes farming artifacts for Albedo much easier, as most characters don’t require DEF. Because of this, good DEF artifacts can be put on Albedo instead.
Albedo’s best-in-slot weapon is a Festering Desire. This is a four-star Sword with an Energy Recharge passive that provides an increase in Elemental Skill DMG and Elemental Skill Crit Rate. Players can also use a Skyward Blade, or Harbinger of Dawn on Albedo if they don’t have a Festering Desire.
Albedo’s best team compositions have arguably changed the most since his release. Gorou, the Geo Bow user who will be released in Genshin Impact Version 2.3, has an Elemental Skill that scales based on the number of Geo users in the party. This means players with Gorou and Albedo already have a strong start to building a strong Geo-based party, with maybe one non-Geo character to serve as a strong Main DPS and to cause Crystallize reactions. Otherwise, Albedo can work well with basically any team that does damage based on Elemental Reactions.
While Albedo was somewhat overlooked during his initial banner, players seem to have fallen in love with the intriguing alchemist of Dragonspine. Albedo will be an important character in the Genshin Impact Version 2.3 update, so players who are interested in him based on his abilities or story should definitely consider pulling for this 5-star character.
