Genshin Impact has been steadily expanding its variety of playable characters with each new update – including characters that exhibit the Anemo Vision, one of the seven elements that exist in Teyvat. Players initially acquire this vision at the beginning of the game when they take on the role of the Traveler. Recently, miHoYo introduced a fascinating Inazuman character named Sayu, a 4-star Anemo user. She has captivated fans with her adorable quirks and unique abilities that set her apart from other Anemo Vision holders.
Sayu, otherwise known as the Mujina Ninja, made her debut in Genshin Impact\’s 2.0 update where she joined Yoimiya under the Tapestry of Golden Flames Banner. Despite her lack of height, she is the first Anemo character to wield a claymore. What adds to her lovable personality is that she likes to doze off most of the time as she believes doing so will help her grow taller. As a ninja who grew up in the Shuumatsuban organization in Inazuma, Sayu is skilled in the art of ninjutsu, as apparent in her Talents. She made her first appearance in the \”Omnipresence Over Mortals\” Archon quest where she assists the Traveler in collecting evidence regarding the Vision Hunt Decree. Players can also interact with Sayu in the new Hangout event of Genshin Impact Version 2.2.
Sayu is an excellent support unit on which players can rely during combat. Her cute character design is based on a Tanuki — a raccoon dog significant in Japanese folklore. Similar to Tanukis found in Inazuma, Sayu can curl up and roll over her opponents, finishing them with a Whirlwind Kick. She also possesses the ability to heal the party while inflicting damage on enemies with her Elemental Burst. Sayu\’s overall concept is a claymore wielder and a summoner class similar to Klee and Xiangling fused into an Anemo character.
Generally, the rarity of Genshin Impact characters has a significant influence on their attributes, specifically with regards to their base stats. Sayu, being a 4-star character, has lower qualities compared to 5-star Anemo characters such as Jean, Venti, Xiao, and Kazuha. Even so, Sayu has the potential to outmatch these characters in certain gameplay, and by equipping her with the appropriate claymore, artifacts, and stats, Sayu\’s best character builds make her a great member of a team. Furthermore, Sayu\’s Constellations provide huge improvements and dynamics to her abilities.
Genshin Impact: How Sayu Is Like Other Anemo Vision Users
Players who are out of luck should consider pulling for Sayu since she is a good alternative to other Anemo characters as several of her abilities are shared by both 4-star and 5-star characters of the same element. She also falls into the same category as Sucrose, Venti, and Kazuha as a Support and Sub DPS. Her Elemental Burst is an impressive off-field Support ability that can be effective in fighting multiple enemies simultaneously.
Sayu\’s Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact provides her the ability of elemental absorption which is similar to Sucrose\’s and Venti\’s Elemental Burst. For instance, when Sayu comes into contact with Pyro while in her Windwheel state, she will deal additional Pyro damage to opponents. The same effect occurs when she comes in contact with Hydro, Cryo, and Electro while using her Elemental Skill. On the other hand, Sayu and Jean\’s Elemental Burst in Genshin Impact are almost comparable since it allows both characters to heal the party and deal damages to enemies. Sayu\’s burst skill summons the Muji-Muji Daruma which creates a field around it and inflicts Anemo damage to enemies and heals nearby characters with HP lower than 70%.
Genshin Impact: How Sayu Is Different From Other Anemo Characters
The most noticeable feature that sets Sayu apart from other Anemo characters in Genshin Impact is her Elemental Skill. She uses the special technique of the Yoohoo Ninja Arts known as the Fuufuu Windwheel state – which increases her mobility by rolling forward while also dealing damage to opponents. Moreover, Sayu\’s base stats are surprisingly higher than either Sucrose\’s and Venti\’s. On the downside, Sayu is less effective at crowd control compared to Genshin Impact characters such as Sucrose, Venti, and Kazuha, since her Area of Effect covers a radius according to where her Daruma was placed.
Players who are lucky enough to acquire multiple Sayu Constellations are up for a strong Anemo character. Once the first Constellation is activated, Sayu\’s Elemental Burst disregards the 70% HP limit and immediately begins launching attacks on numerous nearby enemies. In comparison to Jean, Sayu\’s healing capacity or the Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry, is reliant on her ATK% and Elemental Mastery, whereas Jean\’s Dandelion Breeze is dependent on her ATK. However, the activation of Sayu\’s Constellation level 6 provides a maximum of 6000 additional HP that can be recovered.
When it comes to exploration and farming materials, Sayu is quite handy especially at gathering ores and crystals since she is a claymore user. She excels in concealment and stealth which she uses to her advantage as a ninja. Including Sayu in the party ensures that the characters will not startle approaching Crystalflies or certain other animals in Genshin Impact, which makes collecting crafting materials and food ingredients easier.
Overall, Sayu is a solid choice who can be a substantial addition to team line-ups despite being a 4-star character. Sayu, as an Anemo Vision user, works well with a wide range of characters, especially with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, and Electro Vision holders. On top of that, she complements other Anemo users as well, such as Genshin Impact\’s Kazuha and Venti. For instance, with Kazuha\’s Chihayaburu – his crowd control ability – Sayu\’s Burst can be used to its maximum potential since it can keep enemies within the radius of the Daruma field.
Although the majority of players would prefer 5-star characters, whether they are Anemo users or other elements, including Sayu in the party despite being a 4-star character is a good take. For a low rarity character, Sayu has a lot of potential to build into a powerful character with her Talents and Constellations. Then again, players can always mix and match their line-ups as they go through various Domains and quests. Deploying the most appropriate and powerful team to combat specific enemies is definitely one of the strategies players should consider when playing Genshin Impact.
