With patch 2.3 of Genshin Impact, players will have access to two new artifact sets that will help travelers make their adventures in Tevyat easier. The two new sets add more depth and customizability to the ever-growing options. The artifacts are geared at specific builds and characters, with one set aimed for alleviating problems that healers have while dealing damage, meanwhile the other is for the geo characters whose kit relies on DEF. In this article, we will have an in-depth look at Husk of Opulent Dreams and Ocean Hued Clam in Genshin Impact and also suggest characters who can make the best use of the artifacts.
How to obtain the two sets in Genshin Impact
The sets can be obtained from the new domain, Slumbering Court. The domain is located inside a cave on Seirai Island.
Travelers will battle against Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps along with some Hilichurls therefore it is recommended to bring at least one healer so that it counters the corrosion effect that the Rifthounds apply to the travelers during the course of their battles.
Husk of Opulent Dreams in Genshin Impact
- 2 Piece Bonus – DEF +30%
- 4 Piece Bonus – A character equipped with this Artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost.
The artifact set gives geo characters who rely on def stat a much-needed upgrade using the 2 pc bonus and the 4 pc grants additional def stats along with an increase in geo damage bonus. The Husk of Opulent Dreams comes at the absolute right time to give geo characters a viable option as previously they would have to suffice for inferior choices in the form of Archaic Petra, Retracing Bolide, and in the case of Albedo, Tenacity of the Millelith. The sets though good were not specifically made keeping geo characters in mind.
The husk of Opulent Dreams is going to be the best option for two of the featured characters in Version 2.3, namely, Albedo and Itto while Gorou can make use of the 2 pc bonus. It can also prove to be amazing for Noelle, who also scales off Def and resembles the playstyle of Arataki Itto.
Albedo, generally used as an off-field support deals geo damage using his elemental skill therefore he can easily gain and maintain Curiosity stacks making him an ideal candidate for Husk of Opulent Dreams. Noelle and Itto will take advantage of both the DEF and Geo Damage buff as their kit also revolves around those two stats. The set is a blessing in disguise for travelers looking to build mono geo teams.
Ocean Hued Clam in Genshin Impact
- 2 Piece Bonus: Healing Bonus + 15%.
- 4 Piece Bonus: Healing teammates will create a Sea Dyed Foam. The Sea Dyed Foam will accumulate healing, including overhealing as nearby characters receive healing. The Sea-Dyed Foam bursts after 3 seconds, dealing 90% of the accumulated healing to enemies.
Ocean Hued Clam, also known as Divine Chorus in beta is an artifact set with a niche audience, the set is meant for dedicated healers that overheal or lack damage like Barbara and Qiqi, while Kokomi who heals a lot and scales off Hp can also utilize this set. With the corrosion effect being added to the game players need to build healers to counter them be it in a challenge or in a spiral abyss therefore a set that enhances the capabilities of healers becomes extremely important.
The set is not a damage booster but a healing bonus set combined with complementary damage making it a good offensive option. Pure healers who will use this set will now not be much of a DPS loss compared to purely offensive teams. The damage dealt by the bubble is physical damage and has a max potential of 30,000 healing that is the maximum damage that it can deal is 27,000.
Qiqi, Barbara, and Kokomi are all viable characters for the newly introduced artifact set of Ocean Hued Clam. Barbara doesn’t have a lot of sets to use and Ocean Hued Clam increases her healing effectiveness while providing some damage at the same time. Qiqi is notorious for being a character that heals too much but does not provide any other advantages. This set will give her newfound purpose in some teams, which will make her a viable option for certain combinations while playing Genshin Impact.
Since the damage dealt by the bubble is physical damage, pairing Qiqi with an electro character to reduce enemy physical resistance will also increase the damage that is dealt. Lastly, players who use Kokomi as an on-field carry can invest their resin on this set since her scaling on auto attacks is quite low. The set in most likelihood is the Best in Slot for on-field carry Kokomi.
Note: Bennet and Jean are better off with Noblesse Oblige and Viridescent Venerer respectively when playing as healer support builds and they don’t gain anything from the new artifact set. Diona also cannot utilize the set to its potential because she heals only the on-field characters and she heals neither frequent enough nor in huge amounts for this set to be effective for her. Sayu also can make use of either Viridescent Venerer or Noblesse Oblige instead of Ocean Hued Clam.
