HoYoverse revealed Kuki Shinobu and Yelan as new playable characters for Genshin Impact\’s Version 2.7 and players will have the opportunity to pull for both characters during the new update. Leaks from the Version 2.7 beta were prevalent online, which resulted in Shinobu\’s Talents and gameplay being shared throughout multiple social media platforms. As the newest 4-star character introduced in the game, players are eagerly anticipating her release.
Kuki Shinobu is the Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang, a small organization led by Arataki Itto in Genshin Impact. She comes from a family of shrine maidens but decides to pursue a different path in life. Despite not having an official appearance in the game yet, Shinobu has been regarded by other characters as being a talented individual who specializes in many professions. She often helps the Arataki Gang with legal problems and has bailed Itto out of jail on multiple occasions.
Kuki Shinobu wields an Electro Vision and uses a sword in battle, similar to the 5-star character Keqing. She\’s best used as a team healer and supporter according to Genshin Impact leaks, which makes her the first Electro healer in the game. Both Shinobu\’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst Talents can be used for Electro Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact, making her a valuable asset for certain allies.
Genshin Impact: Kuki Shinobu\’s Leaked Talents
Kuki Shinobu\’s Normal Attack, called the Shinobu\’s Shadowsword, has her performing 4 strikes with her weapon, while her Charged Attack has Shinobu unleashing a powerful 2 strike attack that consumes stamina. Her Elemental Skill, Sanctifying Ring has Shinobu sacrificing part of her health in order to create a ring that follows the active character in battle. The ring deals Electro damage to enemies every 1.5 seconds while also healing the active ally\’s health based on Shinobu\’s Max HP stats making the Ocean-Hued Clam Artifact set in Genshin Impact a great type of equipment for her. The activation cost for the Talent will not bring Shinobu\’s HP below 20%, which allows players to use her skill without the fear of incapacitating Shinobu through her own ability.
Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite is Shinobu\’s Elemental Burst Talent. Upon activating the skill, Shinobu stabs the ground to create a barrier in front of her, which deals continuous AOE Electro damage to enemies based on her Max HP. The duration of the attack will increase if Shinobu\’s HP is equal to or less than 50%. Many of Shinobu\’s Talents revolves around her HP, being capable of enhancing her abilities similar to Hu Tao in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Kuki Shinobu\’s Ascension & Talent Materials
Gamers planning on leveling and ascending Kuki Shinobu will require many materials found in the Inazuma region. Players will need to search for Naku Weed located throughout the different islands. Shinobu also requires Spectral Husk, Spectral Heart, and Spectral Nucleus, which can be obtained by defeating the various elemental Specter enemies found in the open world. Vajrada Amethysts can be acquired by defeating either the Electro Hypostases or the Thunder Manifestations. The Runic Fangs is a newly introduced ascension material found within the Chasm during the Version 2.6 update and can only be obtained by defeating the Ruin Serpent located in the Serpent\’s Cave in Genshin Impact.
In order to increase Shinobu\’s Talents, players will need several Teachings of Elegance, Guide to Elegance, and Philosophies of Elegance, which can be farmed in the Violet Court Domain available only on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Similar to her ascension requirements, gamers will also need multiple Spectral items to level Shinobu\’s skills. Players looking to max out Shinobu\’s Talents should prepare several millions of Mora as leveling skills can be costly. To increase her Talents beyond level 6, a special material called the Tears of the Calamitous God is required and can only be obtained once a week by defeating the Raiden Shogun boss in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Kuki Shinobu\’s Passive Talents & Constellations
Shinobu\’s Protracted Prayers is a Passive Talent that grants players an extra 25% more rewards when she\’s dispatched on an Inazuma Expedition. Her Breaking Free skill increases Healing Bouns by 15% when Shinobu\’s HP is under 50%. Heart\’s Repose is an ability that increases her Sanctifying Ring\’s performance based on Elemental Mastery. Shinobu\’s healing will increase by 75% and damage will increase by 25% based on her Elemental Mastery stats in Genshin Impact.
Kuki Shinobu\’s first Constellation, called To Cloister Compassion, increases her Elemental Burst\’s AOE by 50%, allowing her attack to strike enemies on a larger scale. At Constellation level 2, To Forsake Fortune is an ability that increases her Grass Ring of Sanctification\’s duration by 3 seconds. Characters with higher Constellations in Genshin Impact will also have a significant boost in Talent levels, which can benefit players greatly. Shinobu\’s To Sequester Sorrow is a Constellation that will increase her Elemental Skill\’s level by 3, allowing her to deal more damage and increase the skill\’s healing effect.
Shinobu\’s Constellation level 4 called To Sever Sealing will generate a Thundergrass Mark on enemy positions whenever a character who is affected by Shinobu\’s Grass Ring of Sanctification lands a strike using a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack. The Thundergrass Mark will then deal AOE Electro damage based on 9.7% of Shinobu\’s Max HP and can occur once every 5 seconds. This constellation can be great with allies that rely on Normal Attacks like Ayato, Eula, and even Xiao in Genshin Impact who uses Plunging Attacks frequently. To Cease Courtesies will increase Shinobu\’s Elemental Burst level by 3. Her final Constellation known as To Ward Weakness will prevent Shinobu from being incapacitated in battle and will increase her Elemental Mastery by 150 when her health reaches below 25%. Both effects will have a 60-second cooldown, therefore players should be careful when using Shinobu after the ability is activated.
Genshin Impact: Kuki Shinobu\’s Expected Release Date
Kuki Shinobu and the new 5-star character Yelan are expected to be released during the Genshin Impact\’s Version 2.7 update. Unconfirmed leaks online indicate that Shinobu will not be on the same Banner as Yelan. She will instead have a promotional rate up with Arataki Itto. If HoYoverse were to follow the usual update schedule, the 2.7 patch would have been released on May 11, 2022; however, this will no longer be the case.
HoYoverse has officially announced that Genshin Impact\’s 2.7 update will be delayed until further notice. Due to the delay, players will be compensated with various materials and Primogems. There has been no confirmed date on when the new update will be released but until then, players will have the opportunity to save for Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.
