Travelers in the game will be getting a new place to begin their adventure according to reports. There are some leaks which are suggesting that the Dendro Archon nation of Sumeru is going to be the next destination in Genshin Impact. It is worth knowing that, while most of the leaks come true, leaks are meant to taken with a pinch of salt since the developers can adjust the release dates based on their development roadmap.
Genshin Impact Sumeru leaks: What we know so far
So far, we know that Sumeru has expansive desert areas and lush forests. The region is also the home of the Dendro Archon, the God of Wisdom, whose primary ability is to draw power for the creation of life. The 3.0 update is coming soon and it is expected that Yaoyao will be the first Dendro character to be added.
In the Genshin Impact manga, we have seen that Cyno and Collei are the region’s essential characters due to their connections to the Sumeru Academia. So, these two characters are also expected to make their appearance in the upcoming update.
The rumors about the release date of Sumeru further confirm that the developers of the game are going to add a new region every year. If we look at the release date of the previous updates then we can clearly see that Mondstadt and Liyue were introduced with the 1.0 update when the game launched in September 2020, and Inazuma was added in the 2.0 update in July 2021.
The world of Genshin Impact is known for its unique aesthetics and it feels very alive because it has been designed by taking inspiration from real-world locations. Developer miHoYo has cited Germany as an inspiration for Mondstadt, while China and Japan were inspirations for Liyue and Inazuma respectively. Most players believe that Sumeru will be hugely inspired by Middle Eastern and South Asian countries and territories. Sumeru’s mythologies and environments will also bear resemblance to these regions.
