As the wait for Genshin Impact\’s Version 2.2 winds down, developer miHoYo surprise announced hero Arataki Itto as a new character. The studio hosted a livestream for Genshin Impact Version 2.2 earlier this month, which confirmed character reruns for Hu Tao and Tartaglia. Players were also treated to news that a new hero is incoming – Thoma.
MiHoYo also plans to host a few new events following the forthcoming release of Update 2.2. The Labyrinth Warrior Event, for instance, will run from October 21 through November 8, allowing players to obtain Aged Tokens – an event shop currency used for purchasing Crown of Insight, Primogems, Hero\’s Wit, and Level-Up Materials for Characters and Talents. Those hoping to earn the Floral Zither will want to check out the Tuned to the World\’s Sounds Event, scheduled to last from October 15 through October 25. Of course, new Genshin Impact character hangouts are also on the horizon. And it seems as though fans have even more to look forward to in the near future.
Earlier today, miHoYo took to the Genshin Impact Twitter account to unveil a new hero, Arataki Itto. The leader behind the Arataki Gang, Arataki Itto is a Geo Claymore-wielder who also comes equipped with an unusually large mace. Itto should enter the picture alongside the previously teased Gorou, though that particular character also lacks firm launch date details. Speculation suggests at least one of the two may hit Version 2.2 as a playable hero, though, since Thoma counts as the only confirmed playable arrival as of writing.

A quick look at social media shows that Genshin Impact\’s newly revealed Arataki Itto is already considered a fan-favorite character. Following the reveal from miHoYo, Twitter was ablaze with posts centered around his so-called \”Daddy\” status. Itto\’s actual in-game arrival will likely cause quite the eruption of excitement once the time comes.
Genshin Impact first launched in September 2020 for PC, PS4, and mobile devices, offering a free-to-play action-RPG that in a vibrant open-world environment. The game\’s incredible success has yet to slow down, due in large part to miHoYo\’s regular updates and interactions with the community. Such support seems as though it will continue long-term, too, given the unceasing interest in new Genshin Impact content.
