According to a new leak, Genshin Impact\’s next major content update, Version 2.4, will introduce a new type of chest in the Enkanomiya region. Update 2.3 just went live for all Genshin Impact players at the end of November. Of course, leaks concerning the next batch of fresh content are already making the rounds, courtesy of beta-related leaks.
Chests in Genshin Impact are nothing if not a significant part of the experience, given that opening them unlocks resources such as Primogems, Mora, and Sigils. Players manage to find other useful items like artifacts and weapons on occasion, as well. Notably, four different chest types can be found scattered across the fantastical world of Teyvat, namely Common, Exquisite, Precious, and Luxurious. Each chest type in Genshin Impact varies in terms of ease of discovery and value potential, with Luxurious counting as the most valuable of the bunch. Now it seems as though a fifth kind of chest could eventually enter the mix.
Redditor dzeevaed relays information shared by Twitter user abc64fake, who apparently participated in the recent Genshin Impact beta and confirmed that a new type of chest exists in the Enkanomiya locale. Abc64fake found at least 82 of these so-called \”junk\” chests in their playthrough and said they don\’t spawn in the same location as previously existing chests. Instead, the junk type, as relayed by Redditor Bobson567, pops up in a fashion \”more akin to random \’Investigate\’ spots you\’d find around the map…\”
If the image above proves accurate, the newest Genshin Impact chest type will look remarkably different from its counterparts, thanks to its white stone design. As always though, leaked information should be taken with a grain of salt – even if Genshin Impact-related leaks often prove spot on.
A whole host of other premature details about the next major update have also gone live online in the past several days. In addition to leaks hinting at Enkanomiya as the new explorable region, information concerning new playable characters has made the rounds, too. Even details regarding the domain players will venture across during Shenhe\’s character quest emerged earlier in the month. But, like it or not, leaks seem to count as an inevitable part of the Genshin Impact experience, something that not even developer miHoYo\’s efforts have effectively mitigated.
