If you want a revolutionary gacha game that is ahead of its time, this is not the game you’re looking for.
If you want a deep, engrossing storyline with meaningful consequences, this is not the game you’re looking for.
If you want characters that make you think, this is not the game you’re looking for.
If you want a soft, fluffy harem game with tropey characters and a combat system that is largely braindead, then slide on in, the water’s fine.
My overall take on this game is that its age is showing. It’s almost 3 years old now, which is ancient in the gacha world. Maybe back when it initially released it was more competitive since it had to deal with Azur Lane and Girls Frontline while piggybacking off of its connections to Granblue Fantasy (you can recruit Monika and Djeeta), but in 2021 it’s fighting for relevance against other anime-themed titles like Arknights and Genshin Impact.
The gameplay is very standard fare, bearing similarities to Brave Frontier. You’re not going to be wowed by either the combat complexity or the build system. There’s an arena system and a guild arena system, but the meta for team builds is pretty limited. Rolls are generous in the very early game and taper off very quickly.
The anime cutscenes are… very mediocre. They’re serviceable, but they’re not going to win any awards or wow anyone.
The themes are a bit of a misnomer. You’d think that this is some iyashikei-fare fluffiness with a heavy dosage of saccharine sweetness, but in reality it’s masking a harem narrative. You (male, and always male) are the Princess Knight and for some odd reason the other girls defend you. It is definitely meant to be a self-insert fantasy.
Overall, it isn’t bad, it’s just very mediocre. 5/10, if we’re doing arbitrary scores here.
