I like a lot of the characters in Genshin Impact. Hell, I even like a lot of the minor characters in World Quest’s that have little relevance to the overall story.
When it comes to the main characters, I also like quite a few. Amber, Diluc, Zhongli, Kamisato Ayaka, Barbara, and obviously Paimon, just to name a few.
However, my favorite character is likely Venti.
While his English voice actor isn’t particularly amazing, in my opinion, there are a lot of things I like about him. He’s powerful and fun gameplay wise, he’s one of the first characters you see in the game, the connections between him and other characters/story’s and finding out before the eventual reveal that Venti is Barbatos was all great, he has some really good lines, and I also like his gimmick as a bard.
Venti even has some quirks that add to his character in good ways despite being small in relevance, such as his love for alcohol. His design is also good, and while it might be a bit of an odd comment to some people, I can’t deny that his eyes are beautiful, as much as the environment within the game, which is praised a lot on its own.
But most of all, his character writing. His actual personality is very likeable. Unlike pretty much every other Archon so far, who has or did have some kind of rulership over their people, especially Baal who is pretty much bordering on what I’d call a tyrant (from what I know so far, I’m not caught up mind you), Venti encourages absolute and genuine freedom. He does not want to demand anything of his followers, and will allow them to do as they please while simply living his own life as a bard. Even with Dvalin, he clarifies that just cause he doesn’t want Dvalin listening to the Abyss Order, he doesn’t want Dvalin just doing what he says, either.
